It was a very tough competition in the MasterChef Australia in 2016 where the grand finale was ended with the 32 year old Elena Duggan as she was crowned with the title on Tuesday night on 26th July after a tense three-round battle in the kitchen headquarters against the Runner-up Matt Sinclair.
After announcing the name of Elena Duggan the winner of MasterChef Australia 2016, she got a prize of $250,000 and the Monthly Column in Delicious magazine, she said “I am just so grateful for the entire experience”.
A 32 year old teacher from NSW or New South Wales, Elena Duggan triumphed 86 points to 84 points after heading into the final round three points behind her opponent or i can say it was the dessert round where Matt crumbled and Elena triumphed, winning $250,000 cash and her own magazine food column.
Elena’s victory was so special because she missed out on being selected for last year’s seventh season of the Channel 10 cooking show and now in this year 2016 Elena Duggan won MasterChef Australia.
Matt was awarded a $40,000 runner-up prize and Harry Foster, who came third in this year’s season, claimed $10,000.
Before competing in the MasterChef Australia 2016 show, Elena was a head teacher of creative and performing arts at Galston High School.
After getting the title of MasterChef Australia 2016 she said that “Teaching and mentoring will still be a part of my life but this time it will be through food and it is rewarding working with young people and I can see the connections that can be made there. My long term goal is still to have my own farm cafe.”
